LAUNCH OUT INTO THE DEEP

This is a bible story about Jesus and an encounter with a man named Peter . Peter was soon to become a follower, disciple of Jesus Christ

Luke 5:1 And it to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret.

You see people were eager to hear the word from Jesus.  Jesus asked Peter to enter his ship then he sat down and taught the people.  Peter was listening too he heard, but will he act on the hearing of faith! Here is a scripture to look at

Romans 10:17 So then FAITH COMES BY HEARING and hearing by the word of God!

All of us may have a testing time in our lives ….what will you do with what you heard?
You may hear a message at your church ,television, podcast, radio, or read a blog like your doing now , but what will you do with it!
You decide what soil it falls on, by what you decide to do with it!

You may read, ponder, even think, hmm this is good , and then do nothing !

Peter was not the only one who was tested with what he heard ! We are only given the account of what happened with him. There are probably so many testimonies as a result of those that heard the word preached receiving great miracles as they applied their faith!

Luke 5:4 (KJV) Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon,
1. Launch out into the deep—–He wanted to position him , He wanted to bless him and increase his faith in HIS WORD at the same time !
2. Let down your nets —–GOD wants you to follow his instructions no matter what you think. There is a reason why He was telling him you to do this.

      Peter had already been in the deep!  Jesus did not tell him to do anything strange that he was not used to doing!

He would normally  do the same two  things with expectation each day but this day it seems, was a bad day for increase!  All his labor he felt was in vain.

He was used to doing this.  He was EXPERIENCED to know, the timing and the place for a successful catch. But this time he had labored all day and was totally discouraged. He went in the fullness of his strength and received nothing for his labor.

Maybe you have labored in things that you thought was worthwhile, continuing and getting fed up. Now you say I’m done, but you hear a word from God and wonder could it be possible, can things turn around? Lord you should have come earlier when I was stronger now I’m just tired!  Are you thinking …..This is taking just to long!

Jesus showed up right on time, understanding and hearing from Our Father to tell him to launch out into the deep! Jesus already saw what would take place if Peter took faith in HIS WORD !

Luke 5:5  And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing:

               Peter did not want to hear those words, his entire being said no!

Are you willing to obey God no matter what it looks like?

Are you feeling that the Lord is telling you to do something that you feel is not going to amount to anything?

Hebrews 4:2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard [it].

PETER HAD NO FAITH IN BELIEVING .…..He could have missed out on a great blessing! Why did Jesus say go back into the deep Jesus could have said go out a little more. He placed Peter right back were his THINKING of defeat was,  seemingly hopeless right where he gave up at IN THE DEEP!

                         God has some great plans for your life !

Whatever thoughts he had, were now being challenged! It’s time to show Peter he MUST BELIEVE that with God all things are possible! Nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.

              I WILL…….again are you willing to believe God!

FAITH IS the substance of things hoped for the evidence things not seen!

What are you putting your faith on? Are you willing to believe God’s promises in His word for your life or situation that you are facing ?

Luke 5:6 (KJV) 6 And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.

Luke 5:7 (KJV) 7 And they beckoned unto [their] partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.

         He sees your frustration, disappointments, and lack of faith.

Please understand God is good . His plans for you are awesome if you just dare to Believe HIS WORD.

Decide that the substance of the thing you are hoping for will materialize and your faith will be increased to believe God for even greater things !

Don’t limit yourself , don’t argue with God or try to convince Him, you don’t have to tell Him what you’ve been doing, how difficult it is, how frustrated you are , how you don’t see anything coming out of this seemingly, just waste of your time.

Why is this next step taking so long , I thought I was doing the right thing , and the right way . God already knows all that!

Peter shocked at this miracle of over abundance humbled himself acknowledging his weaknesses.

Jesus wasn’t concerned with that, for God already knew Peter. God had plans to make him to be a fisherman of something far greater, the souls of men a much more precious and eternal catch!

God was teaching Peter that he too will learn how to stand in faith as God demonstrated to Abraham.

Abraham name was changed by God from Abram to Abraham to mean the Father of many nations. Abraham BELIEVED God not looking at his old age or body! Fully trusting that what God said would come to pass ! And it came to pass!!!

Romans 4:17 (KJV) 17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, [even] God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.

It may not look like it but God sees further than us !

2 Peter 1:3 (KJV) According as his divine power hath given UNTO US ALL THINGS that pertain unto life and godliness, THROUGH the KNOWLEDGE of HIM that hath called us to glory and virtue

GOD DOES NOT HOLD BACK GOOD THINGS FROM YOU. HE LOVES YOU BELIEVE IT !

Numbers 23:19 (KJV) God [is] not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do [it]? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

Be patient God knew exactly where Peter was just like YOU!

Relax, listen to what He says keep believing and speaking to that which does not yet appear to be possible . He sees your labor, and it will be rewarded as you follow His lead.
